Networking has revolutionized the way corporate and individuals are doing their businesses. The devices and systems are networked and interconnected so that the services are availed by one and all. The networked devices have resulted in the interoperability of these machines, which has become, in a way, imperative in the sophisticated technological scenario.


Atinav has improvised on this need of the hour, to create its own Home Gateway, which is built upon its aveLink technology. With this Home Gateway, the user can operate the devices in the home intranet from his office or from any other such residential networks. This communication is enabled through the Internet, to which the gateway of the home intranet as well as the home gateway of the office network is connected.


The hardware for the Home Gateway could either be a set top box or a computer system, which incorporates the control point of the network. Atinav Home Gateway is highly intelligent in that it operates on the OSGi framework, which allows the latest astute technologies such as UPnP, JINI and Bluetooth devices to function in it. This clever implementation of the latest technologies enables devices to attain a maximum level of interoperability, irrespective of the technology or platform of these devices.


Atinav has integrated the concept of a Central Gateway, which acts as a control point for all gateways. This Central Gateway, which resides on the Internet, would be connected to all home gateways and would be notified the moment a new gateway enters the network. It is this Central Gateway which identifies the gateway with which another gateway needs to communicate, and routes the network accordingly.


aveLink Home Gateway, thus addresses the need for networks to communicate with each other, so that command over devices is distributed, irrespective of place or platform or technology or time.
