UNIVERSAL INTERNET CONNECTIVITY AND COMMUNICATIONS

Atinav announces management team and AVENUE product line

New York, May 30, 2000Atinav, a provider of universal Internet accessibility applications for the digital economy, today announced its commencement of operations in New York City and the company’s management team. Atinav will provide solutions for two burgeoning markets of the Internet economy: wireless application protocol (WAP) and the voice-enabled Internet.

“Atinav means ‘newest beginning’ in Sanskrit, and that is what our company is all about,” says James Jose, CEO, Atinav “We plan on offering the next generation of products that will help businesses empower their consumers with the easiest way to get information, whether it’s by their PC, cell phone, home phone or PDA – and enable these devices to communicate with each other without getting data lost in the translation. Atinav plans to provide solutions for consumers who need to have perpetual connectivity to the Internet, and this will include software that provides voice-over-IP solutions and WAP-enabled bridging.”


The Atinav management team includes

James Jose, CEO – Jose has close to 10 years’ experience in software development and has held multiple technology consulting positions at major banks and brokerage firms like Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust. In 1995, he started Avenir, a successful technology consulting firm catering to the IT needs of clients in the financial, banking and insurance sectors.

Matin Moosa, COO – Moosa has more than a decade of proven business management experience including business development, sales and finance. Moosa was recently COO of Avenir, a successful technology-consulting firm that provides software solutions that integrate technology with surging business demands. Prior to this, he worked at ETA LLC, an international commodities trading firm that has more than a $1 billion in revenues. Moosa helped to grow its US operations from $3 million to $45 million in under 5 years.

John Silver, VP of Business Development – Silver has more than 15-years’ experience in business development, most recently with Volt Information Sciences, a technical services firm. He was instrumental in increasing Volt’s revenues from $900 million to more than $1.6 billion within three years by securing large Managed Service Programs (MSPs) with Lucent, PictureTel, Bell Atlantic, and AT T Business Solutions. Silver also has held positions with Spectrum Information Technologies (a wireless data communications company) and Career Management International.

Guy Yasika, VP of Sales and Marketing – Yasika has a wide range of consulting, business development and sales experience in the technology arena, with more than 15 years experience in the industry. Most recently, he was a business development executive for Cap Gemini Group, a leading management consulting and IT services company. Prior to this, he was highly instrumental in establishing the consulting practice at Klein Management Group, where he grew the business into an $11 million practice with more than 70 consultants. Yasika is a part-time computer sciences instructor at Columbia University in New York.

Saliya Kalansuriya, CFO – Kalansuriya has acquired extensive domestic and international financial and management experience during his 20 years in both the public and private sector. He has directed a wide range of operations, including financial analysis, strategic planning, cash management, internal accounting controls, and administrative procedures. Kalansuriya held the position of CFO at a $ 750 million international shipping carrier, where he led the company through three global acquisitions and implemented a state-of-the-art on-line Fleet Management System.


Atinav plans to market a family of products – branded AVENUE -- that will provide perpetual connectivity to the Internet. The initial product offerings include:

  • aveACCESS – a java-based software product that enables any client access device (computer browser, PDA, WAP/Smart phone, beepers, etc.) to communicate with various Internet resources, including HTML, e-mail and XML, etc. The product acts as a translator between the Internet and a person’s communication device, providing the ability to access and translate Internet resource data in real time over any global network carrier or communication device.
  • aveCOMM – highly customizable, java-based software technology that enhances the existing functionality of traditional CRM, help desk, collaboration and distance learning programs with voice communication over the Internet. The highly flexible, open platform product is extremely feature rich, enabling such value-added options as application, HTML, form editing, white board, co-browsing, and more.
  • aveCONNECT – JDBC drivers that allow java applications to access databases on various platforms.
