Atinav launches the new version of aveLink UPnP Stack Technologies that enable a connected World

New Jersey, November 13, 2001 - Atinav Inc. (www.atinav.com ), a provider of universal Internet access and communications applications for the digital economy, today launched aveLink UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform for Java, a software technology that enables developers to quickly and easily create solutions for embedded systems such as phones, web pads, control devices, residential gateways and convert non-UPnP Java enabled devices to UPnP devices or control points.

Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform is a highly optimized implementation in Java that consists of an UPnP Device SDK, UPnP Control Point SDK and an UPnP Gateway for the OSGi Framework. The UPnP Gateway for the OSGi Framework provides a software bridge to other device technologies such as JINI and Bluetooth.

The SDKs support both Java 1.1 and Java 2 technology and work with any operating system supporting J2SE. They also work with the J2ME, for small, embedded devices. Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform provides developers the tools they need to develop complete UPnP solutions. It contains an Application Programming Interface that abstracts details of the core UPnP protocols. This enables developers to quickly create applications without the need to know the underlying complexities of UPnP mechanisms for XML Parser, SSDP, GENA and SOAP. The SDK enables all facets of UPnP, namely Discovery, Description, Control, Eventing and Presentation.

"Using Atinav’s experience in developing leading edge solutions, we have developed a product that is an excellent implementation of this new standard”, said Kash Patel, CIO, Atinav. “Our knowledge of integrating various device technologies will provide customers with the ability to take advantage of many standards in one tightly integrated solution".

Atinav’s UPnP Protocol Stack and Development Platform comes with full API documentation, as well as manuals describing the process of building devices and control points. The detailed manuals are supplemented by working example code including sample devices and sample control points.
